2. . Why did you choose this place? What are the qualities of this place?
I chose this place, because it’s serene view allows you to relieve stress. You can see everything from this specific balcony.
3.. What do your sensory perceptions tell you about this place?
My sensory perceptions allow me to acknowledge that this place is very tranquil. You’re left with simply your thoughts in an empty environment. You feel the fresh breeze hit you every few minutes and nobody can disturb you.
a. What do you see? What colours do you perceive?
From up here you can see many buildings such as B.C. Place and Harbour Centre. The colours are a bit dull with mainly greys and some blue from the water and sky.
b. Close your eyes, what sounds do you hear?
All I hear are the sounds of construction from afar. Asides from the construction, birds are chirping and flapping their wings.
c. What is the mood?
The mood is calm with little to no noise as you take a look at the scenery.
d. Take a deep breath, What do you smell, what scents are here?
It smells like it had just rained. The scent seems refreshing and musky.
e. What are some textures here, Reach out your hands, what do you touch? What is the temperature, the wind, is it hot, cold?
The only textures around me is the table, balcony railing and the actual balcony itself.
f. What are the living things around you? The plants, animals? fungi?
There are all types of insects from ants and ladybugs to worms and spiders. Additionally, there are trees, flowers and many other types of bushes.
g. Movement and Circulation: how do you move to and from this place (bike, walk, run...)
Today, I drove here, but biking is also a great alternative. On a bike, you’re able to capture nature’s beauty more.
h. Do you interact with others here? (is this a path, a park, a yard, a sidewalk). How?
There’s not much interaction, because of how empty the streets are. You’ll rarely see someone walking past you, but if you do it’s nice to exchange a smile.
